I sat in on a critical appraisal session yesterday with some second years and it became clear that there were a number of terms that were used in the literature that needed more explanation - for example, what p-values are and how they differ from confidence intervals.The BMJ Clinical Evidence website has a really accessible list of terms here that may be useful to you.
